Drrr... drrr... drrr

The first time I saw this online, it was a much-cut version that was only a few pages long, so therefore somewhat creepier for lacking any kind of storyline. However, it is still quite unsettling. Read it to the end: The Enigma of Amigara Fault.

Scary things abound

Yesterday, on my drive home from Queens in the early afternoon (coming back for Father's Day), I saw one of the scariest things ever. I still can't believe I saw it. I was rounding a bend on the Taconic when my eyes were assaulted with the sight of a sedan, on the opposite side of the big grass median, flying through the air, spinning wildly. By spinning, I mean that it was rolling as you would roll down a hill as a kid, on your side. Except that the car was in the air, and it rolled maybe four or five times before impact, and it was sparking. At least, I had the vague feeling that it was sparking. There was some strange variety of colors, maybe stuff inside the car falling out? Needless to say, I shouted, "Holy shit!" and slowed down. The cars on the other side started to brake, then I had to round another bend and the scene was totally obscured. I was pretty shaken for a while. I considered calling 911, but then there were so many cars on the other side, I was sure someone or many people had already called. So far the Poughkeepsie Journal only has a little notice that an accident caused a minor delay on the southbound Taconic, nothing on what happened or if the person/people in the car survived. People sometimes manage to walk away from bad wrecks... but that one looked pretty bad. I only hope it looked worse than it was. Then last night, when I finally fell into a fitful sleep (too much caffeinated iced tea), I dreamt that a ghost girl was haunting my family. She hated me because, a la Dark Water, she wanted my mom for her own and I was in the way. Most of the dream was spent in my yelling at everyone that we have to do something about this frikkin little girl ghost! But the only distinct part of the dream I remember was my leaving our old house after dark. I shut off all the lights in the house, turned on the patio light, closed the blinds in the front door window, and locked the dead bolt and the regular lock. When I was done locking up, I looked up and realized I could see the hall light on through the blinds. I had shut that off! The blinds suddenly opened and the ghost girl was standing right in front of the window, looking out at me. I can't count how many nightmares I've had about that door in my old house. Must have been a haunted door.

Nothing much to say

It's well known to my family and Mike that I have been in a consistently bad mood for weeks now. I'm hoping it'll break soon, but I'm not sure whether its causes are hormonal or tangible or a combination of both. If it's hormonal, then everything should be fine soon. If tangible, well then I'm fucked because there are plenty of things to be stressed about, like having no money and my teeth rotting out of my head, etc. In Queens news, I bought us a new pot rack (though it hasn't arrived yet) to save us cupboard room in the kitchen. We also got a new shower head with a hose, but we lack pipe tape. Maybe this weekend. It's going to be a brief weekend, since I'll be coming home on Father's Day for the family party. I can't wait until I'm in Queens all the time -- I feel that we'll be able to spend our time a lot better and actually DO things and SEE people when Mike and I are always together. Right now, every weekend is precious and our time limited. I guess it's not as bad as when we were 260 miles apart, but somehow the relative closeness is making everything a lot more urgent. Lucy is graduating from the little kids section of nursery school today. Next fall she's going to be a medium kid! Next week, Olivia is graduating from the elementary school and entering middle school in the fall. Everyone is graduating!
