Lyrical Munchies. Eat 'em up. Or die.

To be honest, when I was taking this quiz, I thought for sure that it was going to tell me I had absolutely no accent ... especially since there were only 13 questions, and they all seemed pretty straightforward. Who knew!

What American accent do you have?
Your Result: Philadelphia

Your accent is as Philadelphian as a cheesesteak! If you're not from Philadelphia, then you're from someplace near there like south Jersey, Baltimore, or Wilmington. if you've ever journeyed to some far off place where people don't know that Philly has an accent, someone may have thought you talked a little weird even though they didn't have a clue what accent it was they heard.

Honk this.
7:34 PM

Two things.

1) Walking to the train around 7:15 this morning, I declared today National Relaxation Day. The plan: no matter what stressful events happened throughout the course of the day, I would throw them to the wind, act casual, do what needed to be done, and move on without a single worry. And it worked. Within seconds I could feel myself beginning to relax, simply because I was determined to honor this new national holiday.

By 7:20, I had forgotten about it completely.

12 hours later, on the ride home, I remembered. And it felt days had gone by since I came up with the idea.

2) New Yorkers have totally ruined the effectiveness of a car horn.

Normally, when someone honks, you are alerted to the fact that something is wrong. Either you're making a mistake, doing someone stupid, or someone else around you is. And you become aware of it.

But when every god damn driver in the city is honking their horn simply to say, "You're in the way of where I need to go," the whole reasoning behind horn-honking is lost. You pay no attention any horns. The people who truly deserve to be honked at have no idea what they're doing wrong. The whole population starts to drive like maniacs. And meanwhile everyone is still laying on the horn, creating one of the most obnoxious sounds in our lives, and it is not accomplishing anything. Ever.

People are so brave in their cars.

A Hard Day's Day

Not to be a whiner or anything, but I think I might be at the worst job of my life.

Except for maybe Dairy Queen when I was 15, but I generally like to forgot that three-week period ever happened.

I tend to get very irritable when my apartment is freezingfuckingcold!

In general, I don't think my coworkers like me very much. And that is lame of me to even admit, I know, but I'm afraid it's true. I'd also say they don't really know me all that well yet. But I'm pretty sure that what they do know, they don't like.

I'm finally getting cable on Saturday, which means a) reliable Internet, b) 350 channels of quality brainwashing television, c) one month of free HBO and Cinemax ... so I can, as Sara says, "stay up late watching soft core" after she's gone to bed.

Things I need ASAP for the next stage of my small business launch: a lawyer, an accountant ... and a day off.

I got my first parking ticket in the city this weekend. Blocked a crosswalk with a U-Haul about 100 feet from the front door of my apartment building. (Actually... I blocked about 1/3 of it.) $115. The cop was a dick.

I'm officially a resident of the state of New York now, at least according to the DMV. Finally got my new license and registration on Friday, as well as my first NY plates. I should note that I got my ticket only a couple hours later.
